Digital Billboard Leads to Fugitive Arrest
Posted: 05/01/12

A digital Adams Outdoor Advertising billboard located on the Beltline alerting the community to a wanted fugitive has lead to the arrest of a 16-year-old homicide suspect. Erik Rosales was wanted in connection with the stabbing and murder of Elideo Jiminez on Milwaukee’s south side Wednesday, April 11.

The message went on the digital billboard Wednesday, April 25. Shortly after, someone contacted the Madison Police Department with information leading to Rosales’ arrest. The tipster recognized Rosales’ face after seeing it on the Adams Outdoor Advertising digital billboard on the Beltline.

Lamar Outdoor Advertising in Milwaukee was also promoting Rosales’ fugitive status and asked Adams Outdoor Advertising to assist the efforts in Madison.

Rosales and 18-year-old Juan Ramos are both charged with first degree intentional homicide of Jiminez. Ramos remained on the scene of the crime and was immediately taken into custody.

Rosales was arrested with the help of the Madison Police Department and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department.

If convicted on the charges, Ramos and Rosales could each face up to life in prison.
